It’s about that time again. The leaves are changing to beautiful autumn colors, the air is cool and crisp, which can only mean one thing; It’s time to explore your favorite fall locations! This will be the perfect time to enjoy the outdoors before we head into winter. Since the weather is so enjoyable, it is the perfect ending to your summer shenanigans. No matter where you live, there are many beautiful locations which would be the perfect camping spot to experience fall foliage! Usually, you don’t have to travel very far. Whether you prefer camping in a Class A RV, renting a cabin or sleeping in a tent, you are bound to have an amazing trip. Let’s look into a few locations that may just blow you away!
New York: I know, when you hear of this city you may first think of the busy locations surrounding 5th Avenue, where locals are rushing to work by foot or taxi, and tourists are heading to a Broadway show or shopping at high end retail stores. But if you stroll through Central Park, you are bound to love the view of the changing leaves. You may even be interested in seeing an overview of Central Park at the Rockefeller Center. A beautiful, must-see in NY is the Adirondacks and Catskills. These locations take you away from the big city to enjoy the serene outdoors. Whether you like to go hiking on the trails or enjoy fall activities in the area, New York offers something for everyone and the fall season provides the prettiest views with perfect weather!
Colorado: Who doesn’t love Colorado? The mountain views are simply incredible! The Maroon Bells is somewhere that you must visit at least once. The golden colors of aspen trees certainly contribute to the fall beauty. The appealing factor that draws in tourist is the snowy topped mountains that hover over the lakes. The lakes offer the perfect fishing spot. In the area, you may also camp and enjoy the outdoors. Typically the 3rd and 4th week of September is the peak foliage season. You can tour the area by bus or using your own vehicle, depending of the time of day that you visit.
North Carolina: In the Western Carolinas, you can visit Asheville, NC. This area has been up and coming for several years. Since the southern states experience higher temperatures, the fall foliage is just starting. Most areas will see a few spots of leaves turning red. The peak foliage doesn’t emerge until the 3rd week in October. Asheville offers many bed and breakfast lodges and cabins. This city offers many fall festivities that include wine vineyards, apple picking, art shows, music festivals and fun activities for children. If you prefer, you can spend your time fishing or hiking the trails. There is truly something for everyone!
Over the last two weeks, many northern states have experienced the peak of the fall foliage. Southern states may be currently experiencing the height of the beauty that will continue until the first and second week of October. This is one of the most tranquil times of the year before we get busy with the holidays. It is always nice to enjoy the weather and the beauty of nature. The list of fall foliage must-see locations could easily continue! The cooler weather and beautiful shades of leaves turning red, orange and gold makes fall foliage a special time of year.
