In the kitchen:
- Use a magnetic knife rack to save drawer space.
- Use banana hooks beneath the upper cabinets to keep fruit fresh and out of the way.
- If there is some unused vertical space in your cabinets, hang baskets or make shelves to store more items.
- If there is space above your cabinet, use it for boxed groceries.
- Install an under cabinet stemware rack.
- Use collapsible cookware and storage containers.
Save Space In Your RV: Bathroom Tips
In the bathroom:
- Use a spring loaded shower bar to hand wet towels, wash cloths, and other items.
- Use an over the door shoe rack with mesh pockets to hold toothpaste, blow dryers, sun lotion, shampoo, and other items to free up medicine cabinet and bathroom counter space.
Save Space In Your RV: General Tips
Some more general tips to help you save space in your RV:
- Remove everything you don’t need or use regularly from the RV. A good rule of thumb: if you haven’t used it in the past month, it doesn’t need to be taking up room in the RV (safety items like fire extinguishers being the exception to this rule).
- Install an “all in one” washer-dryer combo: this is a single machine that washes and dries your clothes, taking up far less space than two machines or even stackable washer-dryer combos. so that you will not have to use as much space for extra clothes and sheets.
- Baskets are great for countertop organization. They also keep your belongings from moving while you are driving around.
- If you have a coffee table, you can replace it with an ottoman, which takes up less space and can also function as a coffee table, footrest or a seat.
- If you like to read, an iPod or a kindle takes up a lot less space than a pile of books.
