Mouth-Watering Luxury Motorhomes
Susan J
Not the RVs of yesterday—that was my first thought as I started looking to replace our 5th wheel. My second thought was that maybe I should just sell my house and live in one of these new luxury RVs! Unfortunately, that is not an option right now since I have not managed to hit the lottery as of yet.
The trend is to simulate a home environment instead of “just a camper”. The occasional Rv-er doesn’t typically look for all the extravagances that a full-timer might insist upon, but so many manufacturers are updating their list of standard features to include some pretty awesome things! If you’re making that RV your home for an extended period of time, having the best modern conveniences might be a preference. For the sake of this blog, let’s assume we are discussing the most “high end” RVs, particularly the interior features.
Warm and Toasty by the Fireplace
The addition of electric fireplaces has generated mixed reviews. Some see it as unnecessary and a waste of valuable storage space. Others realize the benefits, especially on colder days. For larger RVs, the fireplace isn’t used as a primary source of heat, but rather a supplement. If it’s not extremely cold, it’s not a bad substitute for the furnace, which saves on propane. Plus, it’s nice to look at.
From Floor to Ceiling
For RV interior styling, the sky’s the limit. Heated porcelain tile flooring, plush carpeting, and hardwoods are all options in today’s units. Although these might not be the most practical choices, they are available. LED track lighting and decorative ceilings make the look of a traditional RV a thing of the past. Some kitchens feature a free-standing island, stainless steel appliances, smooth cooktop stove, and upgraded fixtures, which definitely makes cooking meals at “home” more appealing. Visiting the laundromat isn’t necessary because a washing machine and dryer are conveniently stored inside a closet. After a long day of relaxing, enjoy a nice, hot shower in the Master Bath and watch a movie on the large flat screen TV located in the entertainment center.
Furnishings
When you think of luxury furnishings, no doubt one thing comes to mind…LEATHER. Updated floorplans include a plush hide-a-bed sofa, recliners, and, if room will allow, a love seat. Dinettes, complete with leaf and buffet, ensure that all that great cooking that’s happening in the upgraded kitchen is enjoyed to the fullest. King size bed with a top of the line mattress set promises a restful night’s sleep.
If these mouth-watering luxury motorhomes with all the bells and whistles things don’t convince you to bite the bullet and go on the open road, I’m not sure what will, especially since you can do so in the lap of luxury!
