Choosing the Perfect Gift
We know, Thanksgiving just ended, but it never hurts to get a jump on Christmas shopping. No one wants to be in the middle of the holiday crowd at the mall, or worse, stuck paying air shipping to get online orders here before the big day. With this in mind, we have put together a list of some ideas for the RVer on your list. Whether your RV-owning friend is a snowbird or a newbie, we’ve got the RV gift idea for them.
For the Money Saving RV'er
If your RVer doesn’t already have a Good Sam or Passport America membership, this would the perfect gift! These are RV discount clubs that save members a ton of money on camping, and camping related items. Good Sam generally offers a 10% discount off the daily rate at participating parks. With 2,100 parks currently participating, there are a ton of opportunities to save. Passport America can save your RV owner 50% off at over 1900 campgrounds. In addition to saving at campgrounds, members can also save on fuel, camping products, and more. Many RVers get memberships with both clubs. Year memberships are $44 with Passport America, and $25 with Good Sam Club.
For the Full-Time RVer
The RV lifestyle is wonderful, but sometimes it keeps RVers on the road for long periods, away from the people they love. If your RV owner is a long distance traveler, or even a full-timer, you should consider a gift that will remind them of the people close to their hearts. A digital picture frame is a great way to capture memories and love in a small, compact, object, which they can easily display in their rig without taking up the space that bundles of picture albums would. We found a ton of these for sale on Amazon, Ebay, and other trusted online retailers.
For the Accident Prone RVer
We all have that friend who we feel may be safer living out their days in a padded room. Since a bubble wrap suit may not go over well as a Christmas gift, maybe you should consider getting them something more practical, like a first aid kit. You can purchase these pre-packaged kits from all sorts of online retailers, or, you can make them one on your own! Just take a multi compartmented box, like a fishing tackle box, and stuff it with all the things an RV-er may need, should they get sick, develop a rash, or get a minor cut or sprain. We found this idea on pinterest, and this blog lists some awesome ideas for things to include in your first aid kit.
For the Snowbird RVer
If your friend or loved one will be spending the winter in their RV, you can be sure that they will appreciate a portable heater. Once the temperature drops below 40 degrees, they won’t be able to use their heat pump normally, and the furnace will eat up propane like crazy. If your RVer has access to an electrical hookup, oil filled radiators or ceramic tower heaters are a good choice. If they don’t have access to an electrical source, propane based heaters are the way to go. Or, if you don’t want to get them a portable heater, a snowbird would no doubt appreciate some warm fuzzy toe socks or pajamas instead!
For the Practical RV'er
Your RVing friend has doubtless made a huge investment into the RV lifestyle. Things like rig maintenance, high gas prices, and furnishings can all add up to make quite the hefty price tag. After putting so much time and money into using and enjoying their RV, it wouldn’t make sense not to protect the motor home itself. For this reason, a protective cover would make an excellent gift. Even better, since we sell covers, we will offer you a special deal for choosing this gift for your recipient! If a full RV cover is out of your price range, you can still help them protect their rig by gifting them tire or tank covers. Regardless of what gift you choose for the RVer on your list, as long as it is heartfelt, it will surely be appreciated. No matter your budget, you can still get them something which will bring them joy. Even a simple homemade gift like cookies or a framed photo would bring a smile to their face. After all, the holidays aren’t about gifts, but about the people who you hold close to your heart.
