Do you want to go camping but always have trouble picking out the perfect campground? Do you prefer the mountain areas or the sun and sand? Would your perfect campsite have both? That would definitely be the best of both worlds.
There are so many factors to consider when looking for the perfect RV campsite. Depending on your experience level in terms of towing a camper, you definitely want to keep your travel route in mind. I would not suggest a trip to the top of the mountain for beginners because pulling up and down those narrow windy roads can be tricky. If this is your first time, I would suggest taking a trial camping trip closer to home with easy entrance and pull through sites. You will learn to love pull through sites!
Are you looking for child-friendly campsites with play areas and swimming pools? Or do you prefer a quieter setting? Most of your state parks do not offer a swimming pool or large play areas for the little ones. However, they do offer really nice hiking trails for adventurous campers. Pay close attention to the amenities when booking your site. Make sure they have everything your family wants to enjoy.
We know how important your fur babies can be, and you hate leaving them at home. Some campgrounds will allow pets and even offer a pet sitting service with a play area. I would make sure to check out the pet policy before booking, as certain breeds may not be allowed at some campgrounds.
Now that you have found the destination that is right for you, it is time to plan the menu! Do you like to roast marshmallows or wieners by the fire, or spend the evening grilling a big meal? Plan your menu ahead of your trip. You do not want to be without anything, or have too much since space is limited in campers. Most campgrounds will have an onsite store for all your basic needs if you were to forget anything. You can find all kinds of wonderful ideas for grilling, cooking in skillets or crockpots online.
